Broadening horizons through cultural exposure.

Our mission.

The world today might seem more connected than ever before. Talking to someone on the other side of the world was once not possible but is now at everyone’s fingertips thanks to cell phones. However, how often does somebody get the opportunity to take time out of their day and interact and learn with somebody from a different background? Sometimes, a disconnect is noticeable between people and their perception and understanding of the broader world. Our mission at United We Stand is to ensure and provide a safe platform for anyone across the world to engage in cultural exchange and learning with others. We believe that time has proved again and again that the world works wonders when everyone is working in conjunction and contributing. In order to achieve these ends, United We Stand is working towards establishing a more connected and cohesive world. Through education and cultural exposure, we hope to connect people all over the world and broaden their world perspectives through meeting and engaging with people they wouldn’t have the chance to interact with previously.

United We Stand connects students across the world via group chat, video calls, and audio recordings. Our program includes English practice sessions with each other, philosophical and ethical debates, as well as conversations centered on current events, We hope for our students across the world to see this as not only a forum for learning but also one to make connections and interact with like-minded people all over the world.

Danny Jiao, Founder

Danny Jiao has always been one of those kids: somebody living on the hyphen between two cultures. Naturally, he noticed some differences and disconnects between America and China. On his summer trips to China, he felt out of place when hanging out with other kids. The way he learned to act in America, did not translate over to China. As someone bilingual, it had become his duty to learn about both cultures of his identity. Ever since then, he’s been inspired and passionate about cultural identity and educating others through cultural exchange.
